As a first generation college student and West Virginia native, Abbie Kincaid felt right at home while at WVU and, especially, in the Davis College.
“The professors are the most attentive and helpful people I’ve ever met,” she said. “Without the professors and advisors I had during my time in the Davis College, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
The 2012 agroecology alumna is currently a project claimant representative for Northstar Demolition and Remediation in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
The company is in charge of remediating heavy metals from homes and soil in Spelter, West Virginia, leftover after a zinc plant closed.
“My company has remediated over 500 homes and over 200 soil properties to make it
safe for families to reside in these homes,” Kincaid said.
