Butler Organics Summer Internships

Spend time outside the classroom immersed in all aspects of managing an organic farm as an intern on our Organic Research Farm. You’ll learn how to develop a farm plan, maintain organic certification and deal with problems and opportunities inherent to organic production of plants and animals.

The internship program is made possible by a generous gift from Linda Butler, professor emeritus of entomology. Her gift allows us to hire five interns every year. Qualifications include being highly motivated and having a clear interest in organic farming.

As an intern, you’ll be paired with faculty in specific disciplines to work on research projects. Additionally, you’ll work with other interns to maintain the WVU Organic Farm during the summer season.
